Dear Work Diary,
Will I make it to school on time? I questioned. I had no idea. I felt like a bee buzzing around my house. I had more work than anybody in the class and what would happen when I get to school? Thoughts swirled in my head, more than I could count. Will I make it? I hope so. Will my giraffe be finished? What if it’s no? Oh no! You will be fine I told myself just stay calm.
When I got to school I burst through the classroom, ran to my giraffe and prepared faster than a cheetah could run. Now many of my bandages were ready, thanks to Mrs. Lancaster (she had filled up the water for me). Five, six, seven, eight, nine more bandages to put on. Wait… 10, 11, 12 more spots need bandages. Again, I wondered, “Will I finish my giraffe?”
I got every bandage on and started getting ready to PAINT! I started to get my hopes up. I now knew that I would finish on time. There was a whole day in front of me. Paint, paint, paint! It went on and on and on. I started to get tired, really tired. “ SARA!” I yelled to myself, “you can’t just paint the top what about the inside?” I forgot all about the bottom. I thought for the last time, will I make it in time? “Sara,” I said, “just stay calm and things will go right.”
Around 12:00 I finished so I started to paint my box. Oh no! there was no green. I saw this dark green Delanie had so I asked “how did you make that green?” The response was “you mix yellow and blue together.” I decided to add two different blues and a phenomenal green came out. I used it and then I offered it to Delanie. I was finished by the time the box came out. Next we started putting our animals in the car. There was NOT enough space so my giraffe and Delanie’s elephant went in a seat with a seat belt. Nora’s tapir was in the front seat. As Mrs. Lancaster drove to Yellow Book Road, Ms. Chown and Room 15 got ready to walk.
That night when I went to bed with a smile on my face I remembered all the work I did. Slowly a bigger smile appeared . “I did it” I whispered, “Everything went just fine.”
The End
