I wanted to write a separate post about blog comments because this is something we have to be careful about.
First of all I want to say how hugely impressed I have been by how many people are commenting on the blog. It is fantastic to know that so many children are thinking about their days, asking questions and looking forward to the next day. It is also wonderful to know that we have so many parents and other adults reading this.
However, in our enthusiasm for commenting, some of us were forgetting that the internet is a public space. As we want to create the best impression about 4th grade children at Explorer, we talked today about comments that we want to have on the blog. As a class we have decided that we like comments that are written with the purpose of:
