Last week we launched our new project, and it is called Operation Story Cushion (OSC). That day, the most AMAZING thing happened. Ms. Chown had it scheduled that a Marine, a Marine's daughter, and Sailor came in (I was most excited about the Sailor).
I (Andrew) got to greet the Marine at the front door of the building. When I got to the front, I felt so good, that I actually was shaking a Marine's hand. WOW! The daughter was there as well. They both walked into our class, and (this is the most

amazing part), he taught us how to SALUTE! DOUBLE WOW!
We interviewed the Military people, so we know how the people who served in the military, how THEY feel when they are separated from their families. The Marine's daughter told us how it felt to have your dad LEAVE. She felt VERY worried, and VERY upset. So, we are making pillows, (or cushions as Ms. Chown would say :) for young kids, whose parents are in a branch of the Military.
