morning meeting ... (by Blue table)
During morning meeting we learned a new song called tra-la-la-la-la. We did friendly pinkey hand shakes to greet everyone. We like the tra-la-la-la-la because it's funny and imaginative.

Our Story (by Yellow table)
Today we read a book called Sitting Ducks by Michael Bedard. The story was about a factory that hatched ducks to eat but one of the eggs didn’t hatch then it fell. Later on in the book the alligator, who worked at the factory and may have wanted to eat the duck, and the duck made friends. As friends they saved all the ducks then flew south to a tropical island and lived happily ever after. Read this book. It is funny!
Self Portraits and Critique (by Purple Table)
Today at 1pm we made pictures of our lips and noses. We worked really hard to get all the details in. We used mirrors to look at our faces. Then when everyone had finished we wrote notes to each other to critique. Last time we had a critique session we practiced giving kind and specific feedback. Today we could chose to have just kind and specific feedback or kind, specific and helpful. Some of us even wrote a question that we wanted answered in the critique session.
After everyone had written their feedback, we came back to the rug and read what different people had written. Some of us shared our best piece of feedback with the class. We like it best when feedback is really specific. For example, not just "I like the details" but, "I like the way you have noticed that the lines in your lips go in different directions".
