Being together with other classes in fourth grade is AWSOME!!!!!!!!! You get to be with your third grade, second grade, first grade and, kindergarten friends! We got to do a math game together where we had to do our ten times tables in half a minute, we got to do a game called Sticky Situation where we had to read a problem and answer questions we got to research together in the school library! We also got to do science together and draw a animal that were researching and find out what it eats and what eats it!

I am from room 11,
we are doing an animal project and I am doing the ermine/stoat. Our process was to write threats to the tundra then we will color in light blue and white where all the tundras are then when we get what our animals eat and what eats our animal we will make a food web. I thought the process has gone very well so far. I think our whole group has really enjoyed working together. My favorite part was probably working on the ermine. They are really cool and in some places they are known as the short tailed weasel. Now I'm from room 15, We are also doing a animal project but it’s different so I will be telling you about our project. By the way, I'm doing a black headed bushmaster (it’s a snake). It all started on a gloomy, dark afternoon in a meeting MS.Chown put together a meeting so we could figure out some ideas for the project. First of it was really slow, then all of a sudden someone said we could make sculptures with plaster the other person said we could make a bookcase and put Yellow book Road's books in them and put our animal sculptures on top of the book cases. In science we were studying biomes and we got to pick an animal and what ever biome that animal was in the student studied that biome and the animal. We studied the animals appearance, adaptations, diet, what it would look like where it lived etc. Now we are making the sculptures. BY, Gady & Cole Today in Wake Up shake up we played knee tag, kick the cone and relay races. In knee tag what you do in the game is you put your hands on your knees and you tried to tag their knees.
Kick the cone this how you play the game their is someone next to the cone and then you count to 20 then the other people hide anywhere. If the person is counting to 20 and there done they tried to find you. You're out of the game in till the next round. If the people kick the cone then there it next round. In relay races what we do in relay races you get piece of paper in the envelope there is a paper that says kick a ball back and forth and you get in 5 or 4 groups. But people are not here today. At the end we played up stairs for a free time. THE END BY Allan and Sergio By: Isabel and Drew
On Friday, December the sixth room 11 and 15 learned a new way to practice our multiplication facts. Ms.Chown (room 15’s teacher) first showed us how to use the multiplication cards, then we got into partners and practiced our 10’s in multiplication and division. First we put the math cards in number order, then our partner called out the equations then we had to answer the equations right every time or else our partner would keep on calling it out until you got the equation right. Then once we got all of the equations right we mixed up the math cards and tried our best to answer the math cards right,we also did the same with division, then we switched off. Then after we finished all of the multiplication and division math cards we got a timer to time us and our goal was to get under 45 seconds. We all did very well on how many seconds we got. It was a very fun way to try and memorize our tens in multiplication and division facts. Hello world! I didn't see you there. Today I'm going to tell you about science. First I read a book then I looked up cheetah facts then I wrote down the cheetah facts in my own words. Then I decided to read a Earth Matters book.
I was reading a book for cheetah facts and then I researched the cheetah because were learning about animals that live in the tundra, savannah, oceans, desert and the rain forest mine the cheetah lives in the savannah and were going to write books about our animals ( my class ). I’m really excited to do my book on cheetahs. I chose the cheetah because i’m fast and cheetahs are too so I decided to do the cheetah. Two of my facts are that cheetahs can run up to 60 to 70 mph the other fact I'll share is that cheetahs are nice to people. I want to inspire children all over the world to have a cheetah as a pet because they are quite playful and they like playing with dogs a lot. By the way, I'm only joking, cheetahs are wild animals and it wouldn't be fair on them if you kept them as pets. They need to stay wild. It is in their nature to attack humans so even though the seem playful, they are actually dangerous. My name is Clifton and I’m here to say get a cheetah! One more thing I’ll tell you is that you can read my cheetah book when I’m finished with it. Thank you for reading this because now you can buy a cheetah, they may look vicious but they are super playful. Just don't get too close! I'm 10 years old and I go to a school in San Diego called Explorer Elementary Charter School. It’s an amazing school. This is the best day ever! Thank you for reading. By Clifton oday we had very special day with room 11,but that is not what we are here to tell you about we are here to tell you about...books we love!!!!!!The first book we are here to tell you about is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows J.K Rowling (girl) this book is interesting because it has a lot of suspense, mystery and life risking adventure. We recommend this book because to readers because if you like mystery, suspense and adventure this book is perfect for you.Another book you might like the Land of Stories by Chris Colfer .This book is the kind of book that once you start reading it you don’t want to put it down it is also a very funny, adventurous and heartwarming fantasy book.Other books you might want to read
Fun Reading, Elea and Emilia Today we worked with room 11 to solve sticky situations. The situation was that a girl named Tallulah wanted to play with a new group of friends, but she was worried her old group of friends wouldn’t like her anymore. She was also worried that she might get rejected from the new group of friends. So what we did was, we chose a partner from another class and took a piece of paper. Then we had to answer four questions. One of them was, “have you ever been in this situation?”, and “What would you do if you were in this situation?”. Some of the ideas that people said:
“I would ask my friends if i could play with the new group of friends today and the old friends tomorrow.” “I would ask the new group of friends if I could play with them and if they say no i would go back to my old friends.I would say to my old friends,That the new group didn’t want to play with me so can I play with you guys.”. Yesterday we went to the library and we met Miss Elliot she is a childrens author. she told us a lot about writing a story. she told us that it takes a couple of years to write a book. there is a huge process to write a book. her new book that is coming out is called weeds the whole idea of the book was to tell people all about weeds and the spread and they have big roots. You have to send it to lots of different publishers and most of the time they say no but sometimes they say yes. When you write a book you have to send it to and artist so they can draw the pictures and sometimes it takes about two years to draw the pictures. It was really fun to learn how to write a book I hope I can be able to write a book some day. Would you like to write a book? By: NATHANIEL & TANNER
This week we had art with Ms. Taisi the best art teacher. This week room 15 painted pieces of burlap to look like imaginary landscapes. I made mine look like mount. rushmore, except I called it mount. dumb ways to die. I drew my 4 most favorite characters, my number one favorite doodle is the one that tries to teach himself how to fly. The 4 that I painted were teach yourself how to fly, Take your helmet off in outer space, Sell both your kidneys on the internet, stand stand on the edge of a train station platform.
Room 11 drew a mural that connected to science, in science we are studying 4 biomes, ocean, rainforest, tundra, and savannah which is the biome that we drew on the mural. I drew a lion which I copied off of a book. It turned out better than I expected, I drew it jumping trying to catch a bird. It was a memorable fun art class. I hope to do art next week. By Troy (room 15) and Sean (room 11) This week in science, we have been learning about animals in the Savanna,Tundra,Ocean, and Rainforest.
We have been in teams for what type of animals we want to do. It has to be animals for what kind of group we are in [example:If I was in the Tundra group I was pick a Tundra animal like a Polar bear,Seal,or a Beluga whale]. We have really enjoyed learning about a animal we really like it because we like to do research on the computer. I have been studying about the leopard it is in the Savanna and my favorite fact is that they live in India. By Sara and Mia (Guest bloggers from Room 11) |
