Once upon a time... (on monday) we chose our books, some people chose non-fiction some people chose fiction but i think that the most interesting book are the ones from Ms. Chown favorite books collection.
As our class library is quite small, we chose books in groups of 5. This meant that we all had a good chance to look for great books. While we were choosing books, lots of people were drawing dragons (see our blog post about our dragons) and some people did origami with Andrew too.
The first thing we had to do when we had our book was to check that it was a just right book. We did this by checking how many words we found tricky on the first page. If it was five or less (but still a little tricky) then the book was just right. After we knew that the book was right for us, we had to write a prediction about what would happen in the story. We did this on a card that we pinned to the wall. We can't wait to see if our predictions come true!
