Dear new 4th grader,
Have you been put in Ms. Chown’s class? Are you not sure what is going to happen? Well let us get you prepared soldier! It is going to be one bumpy road! I would prepare myself if I were you!
Ms. Chown is a math wiz. She will get you into shape for 5th grade like nobody’s business! If I were you, I would get rid of your calculator, man up and do some REALLY HARD CORE MATH! OH YEAH! A tip is to be ready. And I mean READY. Because you don’t know what fun is coming! But do NOT think 4th grade is ALL math.
You will do three or more HUGE projects that involve going out of the school. SO much work, and a long time to do the project! You will LOVE Ms. Chown's ideas! Are they hard? OH THEY ARE SO HARD! They are UNBELIEVABLY hard! I am NOT kidding! That is why you have resilience. (Definition of Resilience: To keep going even when things are tough).
You will not ALWAYS be doing big projects. You will do MINI projects too. You will do hopes and dreams, poetry, book challenge, and a really cool project at the end of the year. Our class did a cardboard arcade. Who knows what you will do! Oh. You will draw your eye, and do engineering challenges, paper cutting. Oh you guys are going to LOVE 4th grade!
Ms. Chown take you on really BEAST field trips. One of them is the San Diego Museum of Man. You will study anthropology, and I am going to leave it there so we do NOT spoil the rest of the project. The field trips are always so FUN because you don’t know where you are going to go with Ms. Chown! It is SO MUCH FUN!
Reading is a BIG part in room 15. You will do book challenges and read awesome books. She is a book worm in a good way. She will turn YOU into one too. I know I am a book worm now and can type really FAST! She will show you the ancient ways of the master writer. I am NOT KIDDING. Ms. Chown is a really awesome teacher. She will teach you to read better in ONLY ten months. So you should be happy you are in Ms. Chown's class.
You will have buddies that are SO much older in you. You will have middle school buddies and High school buddies. They are really nice. The High school buddies are much more mature. They are all VERY nice and you will like them.
After a big project, we have a celebration. There is lots of games and music being played. I know I know you are probably getting bored listening to me go on on and on. But KEEP LISTENING. Ms. Chown REALLY knows how to have a awesome project and a good celebration. You will NOT be disappointed.
Ms. Chown is VERY supportive and passes that along. Now the whole CLASS is supportive. YOU will get that supportive energy too. I mean IT.
Our class has a blog. It is NOT just any old blog, it is OUR blog. It is the COOLEST thing on the internet! You will write thing to go on the blog and it will get bigger and bigger and MUCH more interesting. Oh THIS CLASSROOM IS SO AWESOME!
This won’t be surprising. We have class rules. But not just ANY rules, they are room 15’s rules! The class will pick them, and voila! You have class rules! If you follow them, this class will be so AWESOME AND FUN AND STUFF!
Ms. Chown loves music. You will get to have a playlist full of good music that the WHOLE CLASS likes. As I type we are listening to music. Oh boy. Ms. Chown LOVES MUSIC!
Do you ever wonder about stuff? Put you wonderings on the WONDERING WALL! The wondering wall is a place where you post your wonderings. A kid named Troy asked does odd number plus odd number always equal an odd number. I thought that was a really cool wondering. What do you wonder?
Have anything to share? Anything that you think is cool? Well you can share that with the class. Ms. Chown has a great way of doing sharing. It is SO COOL!
Let me tell you about your new teacher Ms. Chown. She cracks the best jokes, reads the best books, comes up with the best projects, has the best games and ways that will make you UNSTOPPABLE in math! She really is the best teacher in the world. Everybody thinks so.
OK. You are probably so unbelievably bored so that is why we shall stop it here. See you later guys! Cheers!
