On the first day of school, there is always a lot to learn about the classroom and each other. Enemy Pie by Blue Table
We thought the book was a good life lesson and we made connections with our own lives - sometimes we have had people that we thought we didn't like, but then we spent time together and we realized that we had lots in common.
There were lots of things that we wanted to know about the book. We really wanted to know what had happened before the "enemy", Jeremy Ross, arrived. We also wanted to know what happened after - did the two boys really become friends and what was the narrator's name?

The Chime by Purple Table
Let us describe the chime for you. The chime is a metal log that sits in a wooden bed. It has a black stick with a black ball at the end of it. When the stick hits the metal log, then the chime makes a sound. The teacher rings it to get our attention. When we hear it, we raise our hands and listen to Ms. Chown.
If you are wondering what the chime sounds like, we will tell you. It sounds like a phone ringing.
