Rumfin Publishing Company
What is Rumfin?
Rumfin Publishing Company started after we made our blog and the newspaper. A publishing company seemed like the next step because many of us want to be writers and we all really enjoy books. There are six groups in our company which are: Editorial team, Publicity team, Fundraising team, Events team, Financial team, and Artistic team. Each child had to apply for two jobs they wanted and had to say why they were the best option for the job. Most children got their first choice but even if they didn't they are still giving 100% to their team. We all voted on the company name because we think that if you say Room 15 really fast, it sounds like Rumfin!
Our first book will be called Hidden Sights and Treasures: San Diego Through the Eyes of Fourth Graders and it's about all of our favorite places in San Diego. It will be published in early 2013. Our book costs $10.00 and will be both colorful and beautiful. We want it to be available in a lot of different places, for example: Warwicks bookstore, the zoo, and the University City Library (these are all places that we have written about).

How YOU can help us get started
We need money because to buy books it is expensive. We can't buy the books to sell, unless we have capital.
We estimate that we need approximately $500 to get our company up and running. If we are lucky enough that people give us more than this, we will spend the extra money on equipment for our company so our next book can be even easier and quicker to produce. At the moment we have had to borrow laptops, go to a different school to design the cover, as well as fixing our printer over and over again. Please watch our video below to find out more.
To donate money, please send money or checks made payable to Explorer Elementary to Explorer Elementary School, 2230 Truxtun Road, San Diego, CA 92106.
