Every thursday we have art. This week in art we made stick day figures of day of the dead. Some people made the person holding their head. Some people made a plain skeleton some with a guitar or a top hat. Some people made Jack Skellington, random dude, and more!!! WOW!!! We used tissue paper, construction paper, clay, and string to make these skinny people.
I made a sliver, headless ghost. Some people asked "Why are we making day of the dead figures? It's Halloween." Well, San Diego is very close to Mexico and in Mexico people celebrate Dia de los Muertos at around this time of year. This is a time to celebrate the lives of people we know who have died and remember them.
Also in art there is a big chalk wall and everybody can write on it. You can also do origami (if you know how to do it) out of a book. That was what happened at art this week.
