This is a blog post about our most favorite project we have done all year long. This is the self-portrait and biography project. Did you know that our teacher taught in England and she’s done the self-portraits for every year she’s been in America? You have to be very, very, very, very, very resilient to do this project and it was really hard for people to do this project because a lot of people weren't resilient enough so then we practiced a lot over the year. After a long time of practicing resilience we got really good at resilience When I mastered resilience I felt like I could master anything. So for the project we had to get pastels and we had to start drawing our self portraits, we had mirrors to look at our faces so we could get our drawing very accurate and realistic as possible. We had to start drawing our eyes, we didn't do it on our real portrait. Then we drew our ears, mouth and nose after. We went over to other tables and we put a stickie with a comment for their work, we did that about three times. We got critique from a fifth grade because they had the same teacher as we did. When we first started our final draft of our self portraits we started with a yellow outline so that we could draw over it. Then we did that to every part like the ears, the mouth, the nose and the eyes. Then we started coloring over the line that were yellow. We had to match the colors to the same colors on our face. We started to put in textures and details and designs in our faces so that it looked really realistic and spot on. This was one of our most favorite projects. While we were doing this self portrait, we also did biographies about other people. Ms. Chown picked popsicle sticks and whoever we got paired up with we wrote biographies about that person.
