This year we are making class agreements for this year. First we started out by having a chalk talk. This is where everyone in the class has a conversation without talking. We use writing instead. Ms. Chown gave us lots of questions on enormous pieces of paper. We wrote our answers underneath. If we agreed with someone, we put a star by their answer. If we wanted to comment or question someone else's answer, we draw an arrow to connect both of our comments.
Then we brought the papers back to class. We got into groups to look at different papers and a couple of days later we all decided on some class agreements to put on our 'we are a class who' wall. However we still needed to agree on one more. So today we had to think of one. So we wrote down our thoughts to make one big rule. Suddenly there it was the great big rule. The thing that everybody was waiting for.
So we can now put the rules up on are we are a class who wall. Finally Ms. Chown could put the rules on the wall and everybody could be safe. Now anybody that came in the class could look at the rules and know what to do so they could be safe. Unfortunately Ms.Chown has not typed and printed them yet (as we just finished today) so we still have a blank we are a class who wall. But when she does print the rules it will look good on our wall and everybody can remember that if you read the rules and follow them everybody will be safe.
