Every Friday after lunch we have buddies with Room 6 (2nd grade). Today in buddies we started to draw portraits of our buddy's hands. One hand was drawing and the other hand was a model for the the person drawing our hand. The goal was to draw the hands as detailed as possible. This was because we are training our eyes and our hands to improve at noticing and at drawing. The project we are working on is a notecard project. We will work with our buddies to create a set of notecards that people can use. We are going to do botanical art on our notecards. The goal for our final drafts of botanical art cards is to sell them to people we know, and hopefully to people all over America, and possibly all over the world. The purpose of the cards is to act as a thank you, birthday card, an invitation etc. We can’t wait until our cards are all over the world! Drawing our hands was hard so today we learned to persevere and we learned how to really pay attention to details. These are also the characteristics of an adventurer! By Will and Kyle |

Well done, Room 15! I am confident that each of you will serve as wonderful mentors to the lucky 2nd graders in your care. They are fortunate to attend a school that encourages students of all ages to collaborate on cool projects!
