The Azalea trail is a fun and exciting trail that we hiked on the first day. We saw lots of dead silver trees and stringy yellow grass but here’s how this sunny hike started… “ Line up and count off” Ms. Chown told us. 1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8...9...10...11…12… Oh no! I forgot my camera! Stomp stomp stomp. I ran to get it. “Where could it be?” I wondered out loud. “I found it,” my mom said. “Now go get back in line!” 13...14...15...16...17...18...19...20...21...22… “ Twenty three,” I called out. I was the last person to call my number (One friend in our class fractured her foot so she couldn't come!) “Off we go,” Ms. Chown said. Most of us groaned after the first few seconds of the hike. We all probably hadn’t gone on a hike for a while. “Sticks, sticks, where are sticks?” I sang in my head. I wanted to find a walking stick so it wasn't so hard to walk any more. “Are we there yet” I kept asking. “Almost,” they always said, no matter which grown up I asked. “Alright, time to stop and take a break” Ms. Chown called to us. Finally, I thought. We got to write in our adventurers hand books and drink some water. Adventurer's hand books are notebooks that we decorated. Every time we go on an adventure (go on a field trip) we write about it in our adventurer's hand books. We also write about things like the books we're reading as a class or about another big adventure we have been on. Now where was I? hmmm... Oh yes! Finally, I thought. We got to write in our adventurer's handbooks and drink some water. We were allowed to write poems so this is the poem I wrote… |
